About Jill

Dr Jill Latham is an Organisational Psychologist and Lecturer in the University of Western Australia's School of Psychological Science. She holds a PhD in Business from Curtin University, awarded on 7 October 2022, with a thesis titled "Gender Quotas for Corporate Boards: Attitudes and Progression." She also earned a Master of Psychology (Industrial and Organisational) from The University of Western Australia between 2008 and 2010, and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology from the same university from 2004 to 2007. Jill lectures in the UWA Master of Industrial and Organisational Psychology and Master of Business Psychology programs. She is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS) and a Fellow of the Australian College of Organisational Psychologists (FCOP). Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia, she provides supervision to registered psychologists for endorsement and to provisionally registered master's students completing placements.

Jill possesses extensive industry experience as a practitioner across private, government, and not-for-profit sectors, including industries such as insurance and finance, mining, oil and gas, health, tourism, and education. She maintains an active role in consulting and applied research. Her research interests encompass corporate governance, diversity and inclusion, organisational development, organisational behaviour, leadership development, and recruitment and selection. Notable publications include "Looking beyond training as a solution to workplace sexual harassment and discrimination," a peer-reviewed comment published in Industrial and Organizational Psychology (volume 13, issue 2, June 2020); "Actor Perceptions of Gender Quotas for Australian Boards," a peer-reviewed conference presentation on 6 December 2022 co-authored with Lord, L., Sheridan, A., and Marinelli, M.; and "Actor perspectives on approaches to gender balance on corporate boards," a peer-reviewed conference presentation in October 2019. She received Postgraduate Scholarships in 2008 and 2009. Jill has been a member of Women on Boards since 2019 and the APS College of Organisational Psychologists since 2015. She organised the Hospitality Disability Network Committee Workshop in April 2019 and served as a speaker at the School of Indigenous Studies' Year 12 Leadership Seminar student camp in April 2019.
