Dr. Jenney Ngu Lim Song serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Chemical and Energy Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering and Science at Curtin University Malaysia, Sarawak Campus, a position she has held since July 2014. She also acts as the Program Coordinator for Chemical Engineering. Holding a PhD, an MSc (Hons) in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2011, and a BEng (Hons) in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2008, her academic background is rooted in chemical engineering disciplines. Prior to her academic career, she worked as an Environmental Engineer at Sar-Alam Indah (Miri) Sdn Bhd from November 2011 to March 2014 and as an Engineer at Shin Yang Plywood Sdn Bhd from June 2010 to October 2011. Registered as a Graduate Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia and a member of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (membership number 87663), she maintains active professional standing. Known professionally as Ir. Jenney Ngu Lim Song, she contributes to the faculty office and supervises higher degree by research students in areas such as chemical engineering.
Dr. Ngu Lim Song's research specializations focus on wastewater treatment and polymer composites. Her key publications include 'Thermal Properties of Low-Density Polyethylene/Alpha-Alumina Nanocomposites' by J. L. S. Ngu, I. Noshida, M. Akmil, A. Luqman Chuah, and R. Chantar Thevy, published in the Journal of Thermoplastic Composite Materials (Volume 25, pages 415-426, 2012), and 'Characterization of Mechanical Properties: Low-Density Polyethylene Nanocomposite Using Nanoalumina Particle as Filler' by Ching Tern Chee, N. L. Song, Luqman Chuah Abdullah, Thomas S. Y. Choong, Azowa Ibrahim, and T. R. Chantara, published in Journal of Nanomaterials (2012, DOI: 10.1155/2012/215978). In recognition of her teaching excellence, she was selected as one of the recipients of the prestigious 2026 DVCA Learning and Teaching Grants at Curtin Malaysia, supporting forward-looking projects to enhance students' learning and employability. She has mentored students who received honors in the Curtin Malaysia Student Learning Awards, including Sean Liau Tze Chuen in 2025. Additionally, she participates in outreach activities, such as science experiments for secondary school students at SMK Lutong, promoting hands-on learning in engineering.
