Prof Ilse Schoeman serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics at North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus, Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences. She earned her PhD in Mathematics from North-West University in May 2006, supported by an MSc cum laude, BSc (Hons) cum laude, and BSc cum laude from the same institution. Her career at North-West University progressed from Senior Lecturer in Applied Mathematics and Mathematics from 2007 to 2011 to Associate Professor since 2012. As Leader of the Sub-program for Applied Mathematics and Modelling, she conducts research within the Unit for Business Mathematics and Informatics, specializing in mathematical analysis, transportation modelling, financial modelling, and transportation planning. She commenced her focus on transportation modelling in 2008 and has contributed to multiple Urban Transport Conferences published by WIT Press. Schoeman is a member of the Professional Natural Scientists (SACNSP) and has supervised numerous postgraduate students to successful completion.
