Ioannis Georgilas serves as Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bath, within the Faculty of Engineering. His primary research focuses on the design and development of robotic systems for healthcare applications, with emphasis on safety, certification, and human-robot interaction. Additional work addresses agricultural robotics for precise plant targeting and improved yields. He maintains affiliations with the Centre for Bioengineering and Biomedical Technologies, The Foundry Centre for Digital Manufacturing and Design, and the Bath Institute for the Augmented Human. Georgilas supervises doctoral students in areas including image-guided medical robotics, safety in healthcare robotic systems, and agricultural robotic systems.
