Rate My Professor Ian Stephenson

Ian Stephenson is the Building Services Engineer within the Strategy and Planning team of the Campus Development division at the University of Otago. Hailing originally from the United Kingdom, he relocated to New Zealand in 1994 and has since acquired New Zealand citizenship. Stephenson commenced his tenure at the University in 2021, bringing with him an extensive 27 years of professional experience in building services consultancy based in New Zealand. His previous employers include major engineering firms Beca and Connell Wagner, the latter now operating as Aurecon. Throughout his consultancy career, he was involved in multiple projects for the University of Otago across diverse roles. Notably, immediately before joining the University staff, Stephenson played a key role in the mechanical services design for the ambitious $1.47 billion New Dunedin Hospital project, contributing from the initial concept stage right through to the developed design phase.
