Professor Hussain Rammal is Professor of International Business and Management and Academic Lead for International and External Engagement in the School of Management, College of Business and Law at Adelaide University. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Adelaide, Master of Business Administration in International Business from Flinders University, and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne. His research focuses on the internationalization of service firms and trade in services, knowledge transfer across multinational enterprise networks, global talent management, international business negotiations, and international business and political economy. Rammal has collaborated on projects for the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Australian Trade Department, Delegation of the European Commission to Australia and New Zealand, and ASEAN Secretariat.
Rammal's academic career spans prominent Australian institutions. Since 2022, he has been Professor of International Business at Adelaide University, following his initial appointment as Lecturer there from 2003 to 2009. From 2016 to 2022, he served as Associate Professor of International Business and Strategy at the University of Technology Sydney, directing the Business School's MBA program and coordinating Higher Degrees by Research for the Management Department. Between 2009 and 2016, he was Senior Lecturer in International Business at the University of South Australia, where he directed the Master of International Business degree. He has visited as a researcher at the University of Aberdeen in the UK, Aalto University in Finland, Bologna University in Italy, University of Lampung in Indonesia, and Brawijaya University in Indonesia. Currently, he is President and Chair of the Academy of International Business Oceania Chapter for 2024-2026. His editorial contributions include founding editor of the Emerging Issues in International Business and Global Strategy book series, co-editor-in-chief of the Review of International Business and Strategy, Real Impact Editor for Oceania at the Journal of Knowledge Management, and Associate Editor of Business & Society.
