Hope Matuella serves as an Instructional Designer in the Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence (CTLE) at Palm Beach State College. In this role, she supports faculty in their academic and professional development by creating dynamic and engaging learning experiences that inspire a love of learning. Prior to joining the CTLE team, she worked for six years as an educator in the Palm Beach County School District. During her tenure there, she taught students and led professional development initiatives focused on integrating educational technology tools and techniques into brick-and-mortar classroom settings. She also aligned instructional strategies and curriculum content with feeder schools and collaborated with school leadership to build a student leadership program. Matuella holds a Bachelor of Science in Secondary English Education and a Master of Education in Instructional Design and Technology, which form the foundation of her expertise in instructional innovation.
In 2023, Hope Matuella earned a nationally recognized credential in online teaching excellence by completing the ACUE Effective Online Teaching Practices course, co-endorsed by the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE) and the American Council on Education (ACE). This achievement was part of an initiative involving 115 Palm Beach State College faculty and staff members. Through the course, she implemented evidence-based teaching practices to improve student achievement, including designing effective online courses, establishing productive learning environments, using active learning techniques, promoting higher-order thinking, and utilizing assessments to inform instruction. Her work at Palm Beach State College in the Education field advances faculty capabilities and enhances student success through cutting-edge instructional design and technology integration.
