Rate My Professor Hoa Luong

Dr. Hoa Luong serves as a Senior Lecturer in Accounting in the Department of Accountancy and Finance at the University of Otago's Otago Business School. She joined the department in February 2020. Luong obtained her PhD from Curtin University, Australia, in 2019, earning the Chancellor's Commendation Award, and completed a Master of Business from Monash University. She holds CPA certification from Australia and Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA) status from the UK. Prior to her PhD, she worked as a lecturer in accounting and finance at the Academy of Finance in Vietnam. During her doctoral studies, she gained teaching and research experience at Curtin University, the University of Western Australia, and Edith Cowan University.

Luong's research specializations encompass data analytics, financial technologies including blockchain and artificial intelligence, corporate reporting, corporate governance, performance measurement, and management. Luong supervises PhD students, reviews for international journals, and teaches courses in accounting analytics, management accounting, and internships.
