Muhammad Hafiz Riandi is a PhD candidate in the Management and Organisations department at the UWA Business School, The University of Western Australia, where he is supported by the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP) Scholarship. He earned a Master of Management from Universitas Merdeka Malang in March 2021 and a Bachelor of Information Systems from the same university in September 2014. Prior to commencing his doctoral studies, Riandi worked as a lecturer in operations management at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Brawijaya, Indonesia, beginning in 2022, during which time he supervised 12 undergraduate students through their thesis projects to graduation. His earlier career included serving as administrative staff in the Islamic Development Bank 4-in-1 Project Implementation Unit at State University of Malang from 2017 to 2022, sales professional at PT Astra International Tbk – Daihatsu Sales Operation in 2016, and export-import marketing staff at PT Gradial Perdana Perkasa, a shoe manufacturing company, in 2015. At UWA, he also serves as Student Library Officer and participates in casual teaching.
Riandi's research specializations center on operations management, information systems management, and the integration of information systems within operations management. His current PhD research focuses on the challenges and impacts of Industry 4.0 technologies in supply chain management, specifically examining the relationship between organizations' readiness and capability to implement these technologies and the optimization of their use in supply chains. His expertise includes information systems adoption in the supply chain, strategic management, supply chain management, artificial intelligence applications in business, and blockchain technology applications in business. Key publications include "Analysing the Effect of Social and Technological Causes on Bank 4.0 Adoption in Indonesia" (2024, Jurnal Ilmiah Manajemen Kesatuan, with Hapsari, Hussein, Parwati, and Alam); "The Mediating Role of User Satisfaction in the Relationship Between Information Systems Service Quality and Individual Performance in Malang University-Level e-Learning" (2024, Jurnal Manajemen dan Kewirausahaan, with Waluyowati); "Adapting to AI as a Tool of Operations Management in Society 5.0" (2023, chapter in Thriving in a Disruptive World: How Entrepreneurs and Managers Learn for a Brighter Future, edited by Handrito and Nani); and "Conceptual model of user satisfaction as mediator of e-learning services and system quality on students’ individual performance" (2021, International Journal of Research in Engineering, Science and Management, with Respati and Hidayatullah).
