Dr. Goutam Pradhan is an Assistant Professor at Haldia Institute of Management, where he teaches General Anatomy, Ocular Anatomy, and Ocular Diseases. He earned his Ph.D. in Optometry from Himalayan University in 2023 and a Master of Hospital Administration from Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology in 2020. His professional career encompasses 22 years of experience, including 11 years in teaching, 10 years in industry, and 1 year in research. Dr. Pradhan's academic focus lies in optometry, with research specializations in the identification of rural blind populations, prevention of blindness, and public awareness initiatives.
Dr. Pradhan has published several works in international journals and seminars, such as 'Study of Anterior Segment Trauma Evaluation Consideration and Initial Management' (2021), 'Study about challenges in Optometry in India' (December 2019), 'A review of the Relationship between progression of refractive error and transient Drug induced Myopia along with Transient heal work including Myopia' (March 2024), 'Study of Intraocular Lenses (IOL) specification and Biocompatibility' (March 2021), and 'Why People In Rural area does not comply with The Urban People' presented at a national seminar in Calcutta (March 2023). He has engaged in numerous conferences, including national events like the Optometry Vision Therapy Workshop at Centurion University, Odisha (28th September 2024), 'Recent Advancements and Future scope of Paediatric Optometry in Global Aspects' (17th December 2024), and the Eastern Regional Optometry Conference at Medical College Academy Building, Kolkata (22nd December 2024). Professionally, he holds Life Membership in the Indian Optometric Association, membership in the West Bengal Association of Optometrists, and serves as President of the RBU Passed out Optometrist Association.
