Dr. B. Gomathy is Professor and Head (in-charge) of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research, Neelambur, Coimbatore. She earned her Ph.D. in 2014 from Anna University of Technology, Coimbatore, M.E. in 2009 from Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Sathyamangalam, Erode, and B.E. in 1999 from Sethu Institute of Technology, Madurai, Tamil Nadu. Prior to her current position starting in 2024, she served as Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Business Systems at Dr. NGP Institute of Technology from 2022 to 2024. Throughout her career, she has contributed significantly to teaching, research, and administration in computer science and engineering fields.

Dr. Gomathy specializes in Data Analytics, with additional expertise in Security, Image Processing, data mining, machine learning, cloud computing, and optimization techniques. She has authored 129 publications, comprising 35 journal articles, 26 conference proceedings, and 1 book chapter, achieving 289 citations on Google Scholar (h-index 9) and 95 on Scopus. Select publications include 'Hybrid deep models for parallel feature extraction and classification of plant leaf disease' (2024), 'Optimized deep learning models for stress-based stroke prediction using retinal images' (2025), 'Design of a hybrid learning model for establishing trust in unmanned aerial vehicle communication networks' (2025), and 'Enhanced Botnet Detection and Neutralization through Hybrid Blockchain Federated Learning Framework' (2025). She has guided Ph.D. theses such as 'Investigation on Stress-Based Emotion State Classification Using Deep Learning Techniques' (2026), 'Investigation on IoT Accident Avoidance System based on Deep Learning and Blockchain Technology' (2025), 'Certain Investigations on Privacy-Preserving Data Aggregation in Cloud-Assisted Wireless Wearable Communications' (2022), 'Data Mining Techniques with Big Data Analytics' (2021), and 'Certain Investigations on Efficient Broadcasting in Mobile Adhoc Networks' (2019). Her accolades include the Award of Excellence Best Researcher Award (December 15, 2024, IIT Madras Research Park), Academic Excellence Award (December 26, 2021, CISR Foundation), and Adarsh Vidya Saraswathi Rashtriya Puraskar Award (August 15, 2017, Global Management Council, Ahmedabad). Dr. Gomathy is a Life Member of Computer Society of India (2025), IEEE Member (2024), and Lifetime Member of ISTE (2014), IAENG (2014), and ISRD (2014). She chaired the International Conference on Next Generation Communication Systems (ICNGCS 2025).
