George Jackson serves as Tautiaki-Kaiāwhina and Assistant Warden at Te Rangihīroa College, University of Otago. In this capacity, he supports the staff team, including the Tautiaki and Tautiaki-Piki, in providing pastoral care and hauora—encompassing the health and well-being—of the college residents. He collaborates with Josh Chisholm, the other Tautiaki-Kaiāwhina, one of whom lives onsite, with George Jackson being the live-in staff member based next to the Tautiaki-Piki's office. His contributions extend to organizing the college's social calendar and the Inter-College Competition, while actively encouraging residents to share their ideas for events, thereby fostering an inclusive and engaging community environment for first-year students, particularly those from Māori and Pasifika backgrounds.
George Jackson has demonstrated creativity in student engagement initiatives, notably by creating a Minecraft digital makeover of Te Rangihīroa College in 2025, which was highlighted in university news. He can be contacted via mobile at +64 21 279 0281.
