Dr. Gaurav Aggarwal serves as Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Economics at Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies (MAIMS), Delhi. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Singhania University, Rajasthan in 2013, M.A. in Economics from DAV(PG) College, Dehra Dun under HNB Garhwal University in 1997, and B.A. in Economics from the same institution in 1995. Additionally, he holds an M.B.A. in Human Resources from Mahatma Gandhi University in 2014, PGDM in Marketing from AIMA-CME in 1998 and Bhartiya Vidyapeeth, Pune in 1996, PGDM in Financial Management from I.M.T. Ghaziabad in 2005, and a Certificate in Mutual Funds from NISM, Mumbai in 2007. Qualified through UGC NET, Dr. Aggarwal brings over 22 years of teaching experience complemented by 2.5 years in industry. His academic specializations encompass History of Economic Thought, Development Economics, and Geopolitical Issues.
Dr. Aggarwal has actively contributed to scholarly discourse through presentations at numerous international and national conferences. Key papers include 'Boycott China: Balanced and Long Term Approach for Sustainable and Developed India' at MAIMS in 2020, 'Global Competitiveness of India vis-à-vis the BRICS Countries' at Ansal University and Valparaiso University in 2014, 'Entrepreneurship and Family Business: A Case Study of Family Run Company in Assam' and 'Impact of Innovations in Digital Business and Economy' at Waljat College of Applied Sciences and Thammasat University in 2021, 'A Study of the Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative in North-East India' at MAIMS in 2016, and 'MIS & Microfinance - Issues, Challenges and Future Prospects' at Maharaja Surajmal Institute in 2013. He received the Best Presentation Award from Vivekananda Institute for Professional Studies in 2015. As Editor of the MAIMS Economics Journal, he oversees submissions in economics and related fields. A lifetime member of the Indian Economic Association, Dr. Aggarwal has organized international conferences such as Drivers of Global Economic Recovery in 2021 and faculty development programs. He has delivered lectures including 'Dancing with the Dragon' in 2025 and shared insights on 'Envisioning India @2047'. He also serves as a member of the IQAC at MAIMS.
