Dr. Ganesh Kame serves as In-Charge Principal, Head of Department, and Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at M.H. Saboo Siddik College of Engineering, Mumbai, since January 1, 2013. He holds a PhD in Foundation Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, completed in 2012, with his doctoral research focused on the analysis of a continuous vertical plate anchor embedded in cohesion-less soil. His academic qualifications also include an M.E. in Structural Engineering from M.G.M. College of Engineering and Technology, Navi Mumbai, under Mumbai University in 2008, with a dissertation on the parametric analysis of raft foundation; a B.E. in Civil Engineering from D.N. Patel College of Engineering, N.M. University, in 1997; and a Diploma in Civil Engineering from Government Polytechnic, Dhule, under MSBTE, Mumbai, in 1994. Additionally, he is a Chartered Engineer and Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers (India).
Dr. Kame brings over 21 years of academic experience since 1998, complemented by one year of field experience as a Site Engineer at Tamboli Construction from 1997 to 1998. His prior academic appointments include Professor at Saraswati College of Engineering, Kharghar, Navi-Mumbai (August 2012 to December 2012); Lecturer in Selection Grade, Senior Lecturer, and Lecturer at Datta Meghe College of Engineering, Airoli, Navi-Mumbai (1998 to 2012). His research specializations cover structural analysis and design of steel and reinforced concrete structures, foundation design for industrial structures, geotechnical investigations and designs, and earth anchors. Key publications include 'Pullout capacity of vertical plate anchors in cohesion-less soil' in Geomechanics and Engineering (2012), 'Pullout capacity of a vertical plate anchor embedded in cohesion-less soil' in Earth Science Research (2012), 'Passive earth pressure on a vertical retaining wall with horizontal cohesionless backfill' in Soils and Rocks (2011), and 'Active thrust on a vertical retaining wall with cohesionless backfill' in Electronic Journal of Geotechnical Engineering (2010). He has also authored a book chapter accepted in 2019 titled in International Research in Environment, Geography and Earth Science Vol.1 and presented at international conferences such as IACMAG-08. Dr. Kame received the 1st Prize in the 17th National Award Competition (2017) and 2nd Prize in the 18th National Award Competition (2018), both organized by INSDAG, Ministry of Steel, Government of India, for best innovative structural steel designs as mentor to student groups. He is a life member of the Indian Geotechnical Society, Indian Society for Technical Education, Indian Science Congress, and Indian Aster, and serves as a reviewer for journals including British Journal of Applied Science and Technology and Structural Engineering and Mechanics. Furthermore, he contributes articles to Steel Structures & Metal Buildings magazine and has participated in University of Mumbai committees for syllabus revision.
