Dr. Galina Boiarintseva is an Assistant Professor of Management in the Holzschuh College of Business Administration at Niagara University, a position she has held since 2020 at the Vaughan, Ontario campus. She earned her Ph.D. in Human Resource Management from York University in 2019, with a dissertation entitled “Work-Life Balance Among Dual-Career Professional Couples without Children: A Qualitative Study.” She also holds a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management (2010) and a BAS (Honors) in Administrative Studies (2009), both from York University. Prior to her current role, Boiarintseva served as Course Director for the Co-op Program at George Brown College since 2014 and as Course Director (Lecturer) at York University from 2012 to 2019, along with teaching assistant positions there from 2013 to 2016. Her background includes human resources experience with startup businesses.
Boiarintseva's research focuses on work-life balance, particularly among dual-career professional couples without children, gender dynamics in careers, and hiring practices. Notable publications include "A qualitative investigation of the work-nonwork experiences of dual-career professional couples without children" (Personnel Review, 2022, co-authored with Ezzedeen, McNab, and Wilkin); "Definitions of work-life balance in childfree dual-career couples: an inductive typology" (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, 2021, co-authored with Ezzedeen and Wilkin); "Work-life balance and male lawyers: A socially constructed and dynamic process" (Personnel Review, 2019, co-authored with Richardson); and "All of work? All of life? Reconceptualising work-life balance for the 21st century" (Human Resource Management Journal, 2019, co-authored with Kelliher and Richardson). She has also contributed a book chapter, "Advancement of Women in Academia" (2017, co-authored with Ezzedeen). Boiarintseva has presented extensively at conferences such as the Academy of Management, Administrative Sciences Association of Canada, and International Conference of Work and Family. Her awards include the Outstanding Reviewer Award from Personnel Review Journal (2022) and an Honourable Mention at the ASAC Conference (2015). In teaching, she integrates theory and practice through case studies, promotes reciprocal learning, and leads international student trips to Italy for comparative business perspectives. Influenced by her grandmother, a professor in Russia, she has pursued academia throughout her career.
