Walker's research specializations encompass nursing workforce issues, leadership and management, work-integrated learning, supervision and delegation, clinical supervision of student nurses, nursing leadership, health technology, healthy ageing, and carers. She is a member of the Resilient Ageing in Supportive Environments research group and leads projects involving collaborations with industry and education providers on work-integrated learning, artificial intelligence in healthcare, social prescribing, nursing student supervision, and leadership.
