Fatin Elier is the Administrator for the TI Programme in the Department of Psychological Medicine at the University of Otago, Wellington, within the Division of Health Sciences. She provides essential administrative support for the department's teaching and operational activities.
In her role, Fatin Elier administers the Undergraduate advanced learning in medicine – ALM 6 (Trainee Intern Year) module. Convened by Dr Giles Newton-Howes, this four-week immersive programme is designed for final-year medical students to enhance their understanding of psychiatry practice in New Zealand. The module includes team-based clinical experiences, on-call duties, opportunistic learning, and integration with the World of Difference programme to incorporate patient perspectives. Assessments consist of evaluations of trainee interactions with staff and patients, culminating in a viva voce examination.
Fatin Elier also contributed to the Department of Psychological Medicine 2024 annual report by assisting with formatting and creating the cover page. Her work supports the smooth delivery of educational programmes and departmental reporting.
