Rate My Professor Farid Boussaid

Professor Farid Boussaid is a Professor in the School of Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering within the School of Engineering at The University of Western Australia. He received his M.S. degree in 1996 and Ph.D. degree in 1999 from the National Institute of Applied Science (INSA), Toulouse, France. In March 2000, he joined Edith Cowan University as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow and became a member of the Visual Information Processing Research Group. In December 2001, he was awarded an Australian Research Council (ARC) Australian Postdoctoral Fellowship. He joined The University of Western Australia in 2005 as a lecturer, advancing to Professor, and served as Head of the School of Electrical, Electronic, and Computer Engineering from 2014 to 2017. He is also a member of the UWA Oceans Institute and the UWA Defence and Security Institute.

Prof. Boussaid's academic interests include microelectronics, mixed-mode integrated circuit design, machine learning and deep learning, neuromorphic engineering, gas sensors, camera-on-a-chip, smart sensors, and computer vision. He has published over 160 papers, garnering more than 8,661 citations and an h-index of 43 on Google Scholar.
