Farhad Aliyev is an assistant professor in Political Science at Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy, listed under Philosophy in the School of Education at ADA University, where he has been teaching since 2017. He holds a PhD in Political Science from the Academy of Public Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan, earned in 2011. His earlier degrees include a Master's diploma cum laude from Baku State University in 2000 and a Bachelor's degree from the same institution. These qualifications have equipped him with a robust background in political theory and related philosophical disciplines. At ADA University, he instructs courses such as Fundamentals of Philosophy, fostering critical thinking among students on foundational philosophical concepts.
In recognition of his academic promise, Aliyev received the Fulbright Visiting Scholar Fellowship for 2013-2014, enabling collaborations with the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University and George Washington University in Washington, DC. His research specializations encompass political science, political theory, modern and contemporary philosophy, and the history of philosophy. Key publications demonstrate his focus on Azerbaijan's international positioning. In 2010, he authored 'Eurasianism and its Implications for Azerbaijan' in ADA Biweekly (Vol. 3, No. 11, June 1), analyzing the potential influences of Eurasianist thought on Azerbaijan's strategic choices. More recently, in 2023, he co-authored 'Role of Azerbaijan in Maintaining Energy Security of Europe' with Jeyhun Rzayev, published in Studia Wschodnioeuropejskie (Nr 18), which details Azerbaijan's contributions to European energy stability through pipelines and partnerships. These works highlight his engagement with geopolitical and energy policy issues central to the Caucasus region.
