Professor Fabian Yap Kok Peng is a Clinical Professor in the Paediatrics Academic Clinical Programme at Duke-NUS Medical School. He serves as Head and Senior Consultant of the Paediatric Endocrinology Service in the Division of Paediatric Medicine at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Singapore. He obtained his MBBS from the National University of Singapore in 1992. He completed general paediatric training and earned his MMed (Paediatrics) and MRCP (UK) (Paediatrics) in 1998. His specialist training in clinical paediatric endocrinology took place at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead in Sydney from 2002 to 2003. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine Singapore (Paediatrics), a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (UK), and holds a Graduate Diploma in Healthcare Management and Leadership. Professor Yap has held leadership roles including Council Member, Treasurer, and Vice-President of the College of Paediatrics and Child Health Singapore, and served on the KKH Medical Board. His clinical and research interests focus on growth and puberty disorders, hypoglycemia in infants, hyperglycemia in children, and the early origins of metabolic disease. He has contributed to numerous publications on topics such as circadian eating patterns, vitamin D, metabolic health, and growth assessment.
Professor Yap maintains academic appointments and committee memberships in Singapore’s paediatric and endocrinology communities. He has authored or co-authored peer-reviewed articles appearing in journals including the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, Nutrients, and the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism. His work addresses clinical care improvements for metabolic conditions in children and integrates maternal-infant health approaches.
