Dr Emma Simpson-Weber is a Lecturer and Teaching Associate in the School of Communication and Arts at the University of Queensland. She holds a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor (Honours) of Arts, and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Queensland. Her research focuses on literary studies, with particular attention to early modern prose romance.
Dr Simpson-Weber has published journal articles including “Epistolary Compassion in Sir Philip Sidney's Arcadia” in Parergon in 2022 and “‘And in the midst of those words shot him’: Satire and the Virtue of Romance in ‘Assaulted and Pursued Chastity’” in Parergon in 2020. She has also been affiliated with the ARC Centre of Excellence for the History of the Emotions.
