Ellie Parker serves as Lecturer in Networking in the School of Computer Science and Information Technology, part of the College of Engineering and Information Technology at Adelaide University. Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Information Technology obtained from the University of South Australia between 2017 and 2020, followed by a Graduate Certificate in Education Studies from the same university from 2022 to 2024. She also holds certifications as a Cisco Certified Network Professional Enterprise Core (CCNP ENCOR) Instructor and Cisco Certified Network Professional Enterprise Advanced Routing (CCNP ENARSI) Instructor, achieved in 2021 through Box Hill Institute.
Parker commenced her academic career in 2021 as a Lecturer in Networking at the University of South Australia, a role she maintains at Adelaide University amid the recent institutional integration. Her teaching expertise spans Computer Networks, Software Development, and Web Development. She has coordinated and delivered several key courses, including Network Security (INFT 3015) in both 2024 and 2025, CCNP Enterprise Services (INFT 3023) in 2024 and 2025, Security Principles (INFS 5115) in 2024, and Systems Administration (INFT 3026) in 2024.
In the realm of research and professional development, Parker's interests focus on Computing education, Cybersecurity, Educational Technology and Computing, and Learning analytics. She has maintained an ongoing collaboration with the cybersecurity firm Fortinet since 2022. Parker is actively engaged in scholarly communities, serving as Co-Founder of the ITMDS Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Community of Practice (SoTL CoP) since 2025, and as a member of ASCILITE, HERDSA, and HERGA from 2025. In 2025, she delivered a presentation titled "Development and Implementation of a GenAI Platform for Staff and Students in Information Technology" at the University of South Australia Teaching and Learning Symposium. As a dedicated STEM lecturer, Parker innovated by developing her own generative AI platform to enhance teaching and learning in information technology disciplines.
