Elizabeth Troy is an Associate Lecturer in the Department of Entrepreneurship at Miami University’s Farmer School of Business. Since August 2021, she has served as the ESP 103 Team Lead, teaching over 200 first-year students the foundations of creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial thinking within the First-Year Integrated Core (FYIC). She develops experiential, case-based curricula, collaborates with more than 20 faculty members for integrated learning, and contributes extensively to service in the FYIC, ESP Department, Farmer School of Business, and university-wide initiatives. As Director of Advancing Women in Entrepreneurship (AWE) since August 2018, an initiative she founded, Troy empowers female undergraduates to become entrepreneurial leaders. She designed the study-away course "Design Your Life," advises the AWE student organization—which hosts weekly speakers and bi-annual female-founded pop-up shops—and networks with female leaders and Miami alumni. Additionally, as Assistant Director of FSB Honors since 2023, she helps design honors experiences for business students, working with the Honors College and advising staff.
Troy holds a B.A. in English/Journalism (2002) and M.A. in History (2004) from Miami University and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership there, focusing on Women’s Entrepreneurship Education. Her leadership as ESP 103 Team Lead includes managing a faculty team for curriculum and pedagogy alignment, overseeing development of course materials, textbook selection, Canvas sites, and syllabi, handling AACSB accreditation, mentoring new faculty, facilitating professional development, budget management, and collaboration with the FYIC Director and ESP Chair. With years of teaching experience across liberal arts disciplines at U.S. universities, Troy was promoted to Associate Lecturer in 2025. Her awards include the Creativity & Innovation Award (2024), Presidential Medallions (2022, 2021, 2020), Top 100 Most Commended Faculty (2022), Center for Teaching Excellence commendations (2022, 2021, 2020, 2019), a $100K gift for AWE, and a $10K AWE grant.
