Rate My Professor Edward Webb

Dr Edward Webb is a Senior Research Fellow in the Academic Unit of Health Economics at the Leeds Institute of Health Sciences, School of Medicine, University of Leeds. His academic background includes an MSci in Theoretical Physics from the University of Durham, a PgDip and MSc in Economics from the University of Warwick, a Cand.polit. from the University of Copenhagen, and a PhD in Economics from the University of Copenhagen completed in 2016. During his PhD, he studied the role of salience, attention, and perception in decision making, transferring psychological insights to economic environments. He joined the University of Leeds following his doctorate, where he conducts research in health economics specializing in decision making and preferences. His expertise encompasses discrete choice experiments and other stated preference methods, focusing on how individuals make decisions under risk and uncertainty to improve health policy and clinical practice. Webb investigates behavioural economics aspects, including deviations from the canonical rational choice model and how decision mechanisms affect interactions in different economic settings. Key areas include patient preferences, measurement and valuation of health.
