Dr. E. Balasubramanian serves as Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Head of the Centre for International Affairs at the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Chennai, under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. He specializes in research areas including Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, Additive Manufacturing, Robotics, and Control. Balasubramanian holds a PhD in Robotics and Control from Concordia University, Montreal, Canada (2007-2011), with a thesis on Modeling and Robust Control of Two Collaborative Robot Manipulators Handling a Flexible Object. He earned a Master of Engineering in Engineering Design from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore (2000-2002), and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Government College of Engineering, Tirunelveli (1996-2000). His academic career includes serving as Associate Professor at NITTTR Chennai since June 2023, prior to which he was Associate Professor at Vel Tech Rangarajan Dr. Sagunthala R&D Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai (2011-2023), Lecturer at Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore (2006-2007), and teaching and research roles at AUFRG Institute for CAD/CAM, Chennai, and Concordia University.

He has led numerous funded projects, including Design and Development of Autonomous Amphibious Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (DST-GITA), Robotic Assisted Rapid Prototyping (DST-SERB), and UAV Based In-situ Measurements for Water Quality Mapping (DST-SERB-EQUITY).
