Dmitry Mikhailovich Svirepa serves as the First Vice-Rector of Belarusian-Russian University in Mogilev, Belarus, a position he has held since November 26, 2025. He concurrently acts as an Associate Professor in the Department of Manufacturing Technology at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. Born in 1981 in Mogilev, he graduated from Secondary School No. 31 before entering the Mogilev Institute of Mechanical Engineering. In 2004, he earned degrees with honors from Belarusian-Russian University in Technology, Equipment, and Automation of Mechanical Engineering, as well as Accounting, Analysis, and Auditing. That year, he joined RUP Mogilev Plant 'Electrodvigatel'' as an engineer-technologist and enrolled in the university's postgraduate program. Completing his postgraduate studies in 2007, Svirepa began his academic career at the Department of Metal-Cutting Machines and Tools as an intern-assistant, progressing to assistant, senior lecturer, and associate professor roles.
In 2013, he defended his candidate's dissertation in the specialty 05.02.08 – Manufacturing Technology, earning the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences and the title of associate professor. From 2014, he served as associate professor in the Department of Engineering Graphics, heading the department from 2015 to 2018. He then led the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering as dean from 2018 to 2025. Svirepa's research focuses on hardening technologies and magnetic-dynamic processing of critical machine part surfaces. He has authored over 130 scientific, scientific-methodological, and educational-methodological works, including 26 articles published in Belarus and Russia, two monographs, and 27 invention patents. His contributions have earned him a commendation from the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, along with commendations and an honorary commendation from the public association 'Belaya Rus.'
