About Deborah

Deborah Bunker is a Professor Emeritus of Systems and Information at the University of Sydney Business School, affiliated with the Discipline of Business Information Systems. She earned her BA and MCom (Honours) from the University of New South Wales and her PhD from the University of Wollongong. Throughout her distinguished career at the University of Sydney, she advanced from senior lecturer to professor in Business Information Systems, contributing to key research groups such as the Interoperability for Extreme Events Research Group and the Communications and Technology for Society Research Group. Professor Bunker served as President of the Australian Council of Professors and Heads of Information Systems and held leadership positions in information systems associations. Her most recent institutional role included Chief Science Officer at Natural Hazards Research Australia, formerly the Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC.
