Rate My Professor Deborah Bennets

Deborah Bennetts is a sessional academic in the School of Education at Western Sydney University. She serves as the coordinator and subject contact for TEAC2024 Engaging with Children, Families, Colleagues and Communities, offered on-site at Bankstown City and Campbelltown campuses in Spring 2025. This subject in the Bachelor of Education program explores the importance of engaging with children, families, colleagues, and communities of diverse backgrounds to foster a child's learning, health, and well-being. Preservice educators reflect on complex interrelationships between theories, research, policies, and practices, and the importance of positive relationships and partnerships. Students explore discourses associated with disadvantage through analysis of children's life experiences and contexts to understand nuances of collaborative work ethically, sensitively, and confidentially.

An alumnus of the Master of Teaching (Early Childhood and Primary) program at Western Sydney University, Deborah Bennetts stated that the degree teaches students how to holistically facilitate creative teaching and learning. She is employed as an early childhood teacher at John Brotchie Nursery School in Botany, New South Wales. She received the 2026 Premier's Early Childhood Education Scholarship.
