Davy Pissoort is a professor in the Faculty of Engineering Technology at KU Leuven, serving as head of Waves: Core Research and Engineering (WaveCore) at the Bruges Campus, head of the M-Group division in the Department of Electrical Engineering (ESAT), and head of subdivisions including M-Group General, M-Group FMEC, and M-Group Dependable Electronic Systems. He also acts as contact person for WaveCore, Bruges Campus, and is a member of the Division Infinity. Pissoort received his Master of Science degree in electrical engineering in 2001 and his Ph.D. degree in 2005 from Ghent University, Ghent, Belgium. From October 2005 to October 2006, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at Ghent University. From November 2006 to July 2009, he worked as a Research Engineer in the Eesof-EDA Department at Agilent Technologies, Belgium. Since 2009, he has been a professor at KU Leuven Bruges Campus, where he is one of the leading members of the M-Group.
Pissoort's research interests include Electromagnetic Compatibility, Electromagnetic Interference, System Safety, Autonomous Systems, Dependable Interconnected Mechatronic Systems, and Highly Accelerated Lifetime Testing, as well as signal and power integrity, reliability, and functional safety. His work has accumulated 2,341 citations with an h-index of 23 according to Google Scholar. Key publications encompass 'Why is the IEEE Developing a Standard on Managing Risks Caused by Intentional Electromagnetic Interference (IEMI)?' (2016), 'Bluetooth Low Energy Interference Awareness Scheme and On-Channel Partial Interference Escape' (2021), and contributions to projects like PETER on EMI resilience in safety-critical systems. He holds the position of Senior Member of the IEEE EMC Society, serves on its Board, and is a member of the International Steering Committee of EMC Europe. Pissoort contributes to faculty governance as a member of the Doctoral Committee of the Faculty of Engineering Technology, the Council of the Faculty of Engineering Technology, and the Electrical Engineering Department Council. He teaches courses such as Dependable Mechatronic Systems, Electronics, Transmission of Digital Information, Vibrations and Waves.
