Ms Daniella Amato serves as a Lecturer in the School of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences, College of Health, at Adelaide University. She earned her Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) from the University of South Australia in 1996. During her internship, supervised by Grant Kardachi, the then president of the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA) SA Branch, she represented interns on the PSA Board. After registering with the Pharmacy Board of South Australia, Amato practiced in community pharmacy. She gained accreditation from the Australian Association of Consultant Pharmacy, specializing in aged care and medication management services, and later managed and directed multiple pharmacies within the Plympton Pharmacy Group.
Transitioning to pharmacy education, Amato worked as Education Officer at the Pharmacy Board of South Australia, supporting intern pharmacists and competency assessments. She participated in Australian Pharmacy Examining Council evaluations for overseas-trained pharmacists and contributed to question development and validation for the Australian Pharmacy Council's Australian Intern Written Exam and Competency Assessment of Overseas Pharmacists. In 2010, she joined the University of South Australia as a Lecturer in the Pharmacy Postgraduate Education Unit, where she helped develop the UniSA Pharmacy Intern Training Program. At Adelaide University, she co-coordinates PHAR 5042 Advanced Pharmacy Practice and PHAR 5051 Social and Ethical Issues in Health, acts as Liaison Pharmacist for PHAR 4017 Pharmacy Placement, and tutors PHAR 4024 Pharmacy Practice 4. Her extensive teaching portfolio encompasses PHAR 4027 Community Pharmacy Professional Placement and Practice-Based Research, PHAR 4028 Hospital Pharmacy Professional Placement and Practice-Based Research, PHAR 5061 Internship Studies 1, PHAR 5062 Internship Studies 2, PHAR 5065 Pharmacy Practice Leadership and Management, and PHAR 5067 Pharmacy Practice Research Project. Amato co-authored the 2025 paper 'Quantifying the non-remunerated services provided by pharmacists in community pharmacies: a direct observational study' in the International Journal of Pharmacy Practice.
