Daniel Zhao, PhD, conducted research in the Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology at Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His work focused on investigating sex-based differential expression of 17β-HSD13 in Hepatitis C virus-infected liver, exploring implications for hepatocellular carcinoma. This study highlighted differences in gene expression between males and females in HCV-positive liver samples compared to controls.
