Dan Krautheimer serves as Dean of Industrial Technology at Savannah Technical College, a role he assumed in February 2021. With over two decades dedicated to career and technical education, he previously served 16 years as a Construction Management instructor at the institution. In his current position, Krautheimer manages Industrial Technology initiatives and oversees a comprehensive division offering programs such as Air Conditioning Technology, Automation and Robotics Technology, Automotive Technology, Commercial Truck Driving, Construction Management, Drafting Technology, Electrical Technology, Electrical Utility Technology, Electrical/Computer Engineering Technology, Film Production, Historic Preservation, Industrial Maintenance Systems, Precision Machining and Manufacturing, Precision Manufacturing, and Welding & Joining Technology. His leadership supports hands-on training in these technical fields, preparing students for careers in manufacturing, construction, maintenance, and related industries.
Krautheimer is the SkillsUSA coordinator at Savannah Technical College, where he actively leads the college's participation in the organization. He has mentored numerous students who excelled in SkillsUSA competitions, producing national competitors in carpentry and leading multiple Occupational Health and Safety teams to national events. His dedication to student development earned him the SkillsUSA Georgia Postsecondary Advisor of the Year recognition. Krautheimer also serves on the SkillsUSA National Education Team and as Co-Technical Chair for the National Entrepreneurship competition. He has advised teams achieving success, including medals at the 2024 SkillsUSA nationals, contributing significantly to the college's reputation in career and technical education competitions and workforce development.
