Chriss Hamilton serves as the International Partnerships Co-ordinator in the External Engagement division at the University of Otago. In this capacity, Hamilton oversees the university's International Partnerships Policy, providing advice and support to staff regarding Otago's international partnership agreements. Hamilton coordinates Otago's involvement in the Matariki Network of Universities, manages the Otago Office of the Auckland Confucius Institute, liaises with the New Zealand Centre at Peking University, and acts as Ambassador for the Association of Commonwealth Universities. Hamilton has contributed to facilitating research relationships between Otago academics and international partners, such as those with Jinan University. Additionally, Hamilton organizes and supports various university initiatives and events, including Matariki Engagement Grant information sessions, webinars on disability inclusion in higher education, Qigong lessons for staff and students, and discussion meetings on healthy and sustainable diets research and application in a university context. Previously, Hamilton worked as a Reviews Secretary for department and programme reviews.
Hamilton plays a key role in advancing the University of Otago's global engagement through strategic international partnerships and coordination efforts.
