Associate Professor Cara Swit is a faculty member in the School of Health Sciences at the University of Canterbury. She holds a PhD from Macquarie University awarded in 2016. Her research focuses on early childhood social development, with particular emphasis on the period from birth to eight years of age, relational aggression, child social cognitive processing, parental wellbeing, and child-centred methodologies. Swit leads the Relationships Lab at the University of Canterbury and has contributed to studies on topics such as problematic screen media use in early childhood and associations between parent and child stress.
