Dr. C. Chandrasekhara Sastry is an Assistant Professor (Grade-I) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing Kurnool (IIITDM Kurnool). He earned his Ph.D. in Manufacturing Engineering from the College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University, Chennai in 2020, an M.E. in Computer Integrated Manufacturing from the same institution in 2015, and a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from P.E.S. Institute of Technology, Bangalore, affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, in 2012. Sastry's career trajectory at IIITDM Kurnool began in December 2019 as Temporary Faculty, advancing to Assistant Professor (Grade II) in December 2020 and to his current Grade-I position in October 2023. Previously, he served as a Teaching Fellow in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Anna University from March 2016 to November 2019, an Assistant System Engineer Trainee in the Engineering Division at Tata Consultancy Services from September 2015 to July 2016, and a Project Associate in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Madras from September 2012 to May 2013.
His research specializations include Additive Manufacturing, Advanced Manufacturing Processes, and Production Engineering. Sastry has been awarded the Indian National Science Academy (INSA) Visiting Scientist fellowship for the fiscal year 2024-2025.
