Dr Belinda Lovell is a Lecturer in Midwifery in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, College of Health, at Adelaide University. She coordinates key undergraduate courses such as Evidence Based Midwifery (MIDW 1101) and Midwifery Project (MIDW 3000), delivering tutorials across multiple campuses including Adelaide City, Whyalla, and online. Her research expertise encompasses parenting education for women experiencing incarceration, the specific parenting education needs of Aboriginal women in prison, trauma-informed educational approaches, bladder scanning practices in maternity care, postpartum urinary retention, and urinary tract infections during maternity care. Lovell is eligible to supervise higher degree by research students at the Masters and PhD levels as a co-supervisor. She currently co-supervises doctoral candidates on projects including "Strengthening Interprofessional Collaborative Responses to Intimate Partner Violence in Pregnancy: an Educational Intervention for Healthcare Professionals" and "Student-led breastfeeding education clinic: An innovative approach to support breastfeeding as a public health priority".
Lovell's publications reflect her contributions to midwifery and health justice.
