Dr. Asif Iqbal Momin is a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at BLDEA's V. P. Dr. P. G. Halakatti College of Engineering and Technology, Vijayapur, Karnataka, India. He has been affiliated with the institution since July 15, 2013, starting as an Assistant Professor and advancing to Professor. Previously, he served as Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Civil Engineering at SECAB Institute of Engineering and Technology, Vijayapur, from September 2005 to June 15, 2013. Dr. Momin earned his Ph.D. in Civil-Structural Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, in October 2019. He also holds an M.Tech. in Structural Engineering from VTU, awarded in July 2006 with First Class Distinction (75.05%), and a B.E. in Civil Engineering from VTU in July 2004 with First Class Distinction (80.82%). He is a life member of the Indian Society for Technical Education and holds membership in the Institution of Engineers (India) under M-1549779.
Dr. Momin's research focuses on Concrete Technology, particularly High Performance Concrete, structural behavior, and related properties. His prominent publications include "Study on Light Transmittance of Concrete Using Optical Fibers and Glass Rods" (2014, IOSR Journal of Mechanical and Civil Engineering, 58 citations), "Mechanical properties of high-strength self-compacting concrete" (2023, ACS Omega, 13 citations), "Flexural Strength and Behavioral Study of High-Performance Concrete Beams using Stress-Block Parameters" (2021, International Journal of Engineering, Transactions B: Applications, 10 citations), "An Experimental Investigation on Durability Properties of Reactive Powder Concrete" (2022, International Journal of Engineering, Transactions B: Applications, 9 citations), "Shear behavior of high strength self-compacting concrete slender beams without web reinforcement" (2022, Journal of Applied Science and Engineering, 6 citations), and "Experimental and Finite Element Analysis of 80MPa Two-span High-Performance Concrete Beam under Flexure" (2019, Lecture Notes in Civil Engineering, Springer). Additionally, he contributes to e-learning through his YouTube channel and personal blog, offering tutorials on prestressed concrete analysis and design.
