Dr. Arif Sikander is a Senior Lecturer and Academic Chair of Human Resource Management in the Murdoch Business School at Murdoch University, Western Australia. He concurrently serves as a Consultant in Aviation Management. His robust academic background includes a Bachelor of Avionics Engineering from PAF College of Aeronautical Engineering (1973-1977), a Master of Education (STM) from The University of Western Australia (2001-2005), and a Doctor of Philosophy from Murdoch University (2004-2011). He also possesses an M.Eng in Aerospace Engineering from the UK, an MBA, and an Australian Aircraft License, reflecting his strong foundation in aeronautical and management disciplines.
Sikander's research focuses on aviation, organisational behaviour, and human resource management. Key publications include 'Skills and competencies for the contemporary human resource professional: a synthesis of the academic, industry and employers' perspectives' co-authored with Leanne McDonnell in The Journal of Developing Areas (2017, cited 32 times); 'Scenario-planning as a stand-alone tool for strategic management' (2016, cited 7 times); 'Predicting consumer behavior based on country of origin (COO): implications for international marketers' (2010); and 'Twenty years of research on total quality management in Higher Education: A systematic literature review' with K.
