Anne Vernall is an Administrator in the Divisional Services & Administration at the University of Otago, Christchurch campus, within the Division of Health Sciences. She supports the Department of Medicine and handles administrative duties for medical education initiatives. Anne serves as the module administrator for advanced learning in medicine modules for fourth and fifth-year students, focusing on the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of older people. She is also a key contact in the induction guide for clinical teachers and various departmental contacts at the Christchurch campus.
Anne Vernall has been recognized for her exemplary service through prestigious staff awards. In 2018, she received the Excellence in Health and Safety award for finding and implementing new ways to get people involved with health and safety and for sustained excellence in compliance. Her achievements include efficiency and currency with training, promoting staff and student well-being, performing fire warden duties, and contributing to post-earthquake initiatives. In 2024, at the University of Otago Christchurch Matariki staff awards, she was honored in the Mā Whero, Mā Pango / Collaboration category for providing diligent administrative support to the restructured Older Persons Health module. She collaborated closely with co-convenors to facilitate the creation of this complex new initiative under time-pressured conditions.
