Anna Samuel serves as Kaiwhakahaere Tari | Administrator at the University of Otago, providing essential professional support to multiple academic programmes. In the Classics programme, part of the Division of Humanities, she is the designated professional staff member, assisting the Head of Programme, Associate Professor Daniel Osland, and academic staff including Dr Arlene Allan, Dr Chloe Borowska, Associate Professor Sean McConnell, Associate Professor Gwynaeth McIntyre, Dr Davide Morassi, Dr Giovanni Piccolo, and Dr Hannah Sorscher. Her responsibilities include managing administrative operations for this programme focused on Greek and Roman history, literature, mythology, philosophy, and social history. Anna Samuel also acts as Administrator for the Department of Science Communication within the Centre for Science Communication. Alongside Lucy Beres, she possesses many years of combined experience, making her an invaluable team member who ensures the everyday business runs smoothly and serves as the first point of contact for logistical questions related to the programme. The department is led by Professor Jesse Bering as Director/Head of Department, with key staff including Professor Lloyd Davis (Chair in Science Communication), Emeritus Professor Nancy Longnecker, Dr Ana Stojanov, Steve Ting (Teaching Fellow), and students.
