Rate My Professor Andrew Sheridan

Sheridan's scholarly pursuits concentrate on neurodevelopmental disorders, with a primary focus on attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in both children and adults. Key research endeavors encompass validating impulsivity measures tailored for adult ADHD populations, examining 'local sleep' phenomena through EEG to elucidate impacts on alertness in individuals with ADHD, and devising group-based adaptations of behavioral interventions targeting conduct disorders. He supervises doctoral students on pertinent topics, including behavioral sleep interventions for children with ADHD alongside collaborators such as Carmela Pestell and Romola Bucks. His publications appear in prestigious outlets, including "Does Delivery Mode Matter? A Randomised Controlled Trial of the Sleeping Sound Intervention: Predicting Sleep Outcomes in Children With ADHD" (Malkani et al., 2025, Journal of Attention Disorders), "Pediatric cognitive reserve moderates the effect of brain structure in attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder: Evidence for an optimized residual approach" (Irani et al., 2024, Neuropsychology), "Modeling the development of cognitive reserve in children: A residual index approach" (Irani et al., 2024, Journal of the International Neuropsychological Society), "Assessing non-right-handedness and atypical cerebral lateralisation as predictors of paediatric mental health difficulties" (Irani et al., 2023, European Journal of Neuroscience), and "In-person versus online delivery of a behavioral sleep intervention (Sleeping Sound©) for children with ADHD: protocol for a parallel-group, non-inferiority, randomized controlled trial" (Malkani et al., 2023, BMC Pediatrics). These works advance insights into neuropsychological underpinnings of ADHD and bolster clinical intervention strategies.
