Dr. Amy Hutson is Chair of the Department of Accounting, Economics, and Finance and Professor of Economics at Fairmont State University in the College of Business & Aviation. She is a member of the Business & Economics faculty. Dr. Hutson earned her B.S. in Economics, M.A. in Economics, and Ph.D. in Economics from West Virginia University. Her academic training in economics supports her roles in teaching, research, and administration at the university.
Dr. Hutson's research specializations include public economics, regional economics, health economics, economic impact analysis, and forecasting. She serves as a member on several university committees, including the Academic Appeals Committee, Presidential Perception Committee, Faculty Development Committee, and Faculty Personnel Committee for the College of Business and Aviation. As department chair, she leads programs such as the Accounting major and B.S. Business Administration concentrations in Economics and Finance.
