About Alivelu

Professor Alivelu Manga Parimi serves as Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani, Hyderabad Campus, and holds the position of Associate Dean in the Academic-Graduate Studies and Research Division (AGSRD). She earned her B.E. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and M.E. in Control Systems from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, and completed her Ph.D. in Power Systems at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia. Her research focuses on critical areas within power systems and control engineering, including FACTS devices, power system stability, power quality, renewable energy sources, control systems applications, electric vehicles, hybrid microgrids, modal analysis, remaining useful life (RUL) of batteries and hybrid energy storage systems, reactive power compensation, and renewable energy integration.

Parimi has made significant contributions to her field through extensive supervision of doctoral research, having graduated seven Ph.D. students, with eight ongoing under her guidance and two co-supervised. Her academic output includes 5 book chapters, 25 journal publications, 77 peer-reviewed conference papers, and one filed patent. With over 1,187 citations documented on Google Scholar, her work has notable influence in power systems and renewable energy domains. She maintains active professional engagements as a Senior Member of the IEEE, member of the IEEE Smart Grid Community, and member of the IEEE Power and Energy Society. Additionally, she leads the Power Systems Lab at BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus and contributes to various research projects and facilities.
