Alissa Goodman is a Professor of Economics in the Centre for Longitudinal Studies within the UCL Social Research Institute at University College London. She serves as Co-Director of Generation New Era and has held the position of Director of the Centre for Longitudinal Studies. Her research interests include inequality, poverty, education, and the intergenerational transmission of well-being. Goodman is also a Research Fellow at the Institute for Fiscal Studies.
She was awarded a CBE in the 2021 Queen's Birthday Honours for services to social science. Goodman has contributed to numerous studies using longitudinal data, including work on social mobility and health outcomes from the 1958 British birth cohort, as well as drivers of educational success.
