Alberto C. Guillo is the Executive Vice President and concurrently Vice President for Planning and Finance at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP). As a Professor II holding a Master of Science in Statistics and a Master of Arts in Economics, he is designated as faculty with expertise in Applied Statistics. His academic and administrative roles position him centrally in PUP's leadership, contributing to financial planning, university development, and expert consultations in statistical applications.
In his tenure, Guillo has chaired the University Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (UDRRMC), commencing disaster-preparedness webinars and programs. He delivered welcome remarks at multiple university events, including the second leg of the Strategic Communication Management Office workshop representing the Office of the Executive Vice President and Office of the Vice President for Planning and Finance, PUP-wide virtual development planning where he recapped prior activities, the first university-wide outstanding students and organizations awarding ceremony, and the Star8 Green e-trykes donation event. He also graced donor appreciation events for typhoon assistance and provided closing remarks at the PESDI Awards hosted by PUP. Guillo announced PUP's Three Star Rating from the QS Stars Rating System and facilitated partnerships such as with PwC Philippines for workforce development and Huawei for collaborations. His research includes co-authoring 'Socioeconomic Profiling of Communities Surrounding Polytechnic University of the Philippines as Basis of Extension Programs' with Melcah Pascua Monsura, published in 2020 in Annals of Tropical Medicine and Public Health, and 'A Community Cloud-Based Course Management System Using Platform as a Service (PaaS) Model for Higher Educational Institutions'.
