The Taub Institute for Research on Alzheimer's Disease and the Aging Brian is seeking a Staff Associate I position to join the lab of Dr. Andrew Teich.
The primary function of this role is to bank and retrieve fresh, frozen and fixed brain tissue to fuel neurological research and slide send out and data organization. This position is integral to the function of the brain bank under the ADRC and Taub Institute, providing tissue to various projects within and outside of Columbia.
Responsibilities:
- Neuroanatomy, fresh and fixed tissue processing, LNV use, storage of tissue and use of cryo freezers, database upkeep and improvement. 35%
- Able to carry out research projects with limited PI oversight; these include projects with histologic data, proteomic data, and transcriptomic data; projects will focus on the pathphysiology of neurodegenerative disease. 20%
