The Opportunity: The Wilkinson laboratory seeks a senior research assistant. This Cancer Research UK-funded post is available for a term of three years. Selective autophagy is emerging as a fundamental pathway in maintenance of cellular health. Our laboratory probes the fundamental links between this pathway and cancer progression. Techniques used by the laboratory include both traditional and organoid cell culture, CRISR/Cas9, omic methods and standard molecular biology techniques, coupled with analysis of tissues from murine models of cancer. The Opportunity: Under the guidance of the PI and senior laboratory members of staff, help facilitate a programme of research investigating the cellular and molecular mechanisms regulating liver fibrosis. Your skills and attributes for success: An undergraduate degree in the biological field is required, and significant laboratory experience and knowledge of the research field would be a strong advantage. Applicants must be willing to work in an interdisciplinary environment and develop new skills. Evidence of a strong track-record in some aspect of biology. Evidence of a strong work ethic, independent thinking and ability to work as part of a research team.
