Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?
The Meletis laboratory studies the role of circuits and neuron subtypes in motivated behaviors using optogenetics, transcriptomics, whole-brain viral tracing, behavior, imaging and electrophysiology.
Your mission
The aim of the project is to identify and define the role of neurons in circuits that regulate motivated behaviors and are altered in mood disorders or addiction. The research assistant will have the opportunity to learn state-of-the-art research skills, and will use a range of molecular and viral methods to investigate the role of neuron subtypes in the basal ganglia for the evaluation and selection of actions and decision-making strategies.
Your profile
The applicant should have extensive training and experience using mouse behavioral assays, viral tracing methods including retrograde rabies virus tracing, and mapping of cell types in the adult mouse brain.
