The Broide Lab is looking for a postdoctoral scholar interested in pursuing a career at the area of asthma research. Our group research focuses on understanding the role of airway inflammation in contributing to asthma and airway remodeling. The studies have focused on the role of chromosome 17q21 in allergic inflammation and airway remodeling. The postdoctoral fellow will lead a project on understanding the role of GSDMA gene, located on the chromosome 17q21, in the asthma mouse model. POSITION DESCRIPTION Research in the laboratory is at the intersection of lipid metabolism and inflammation, in the broad context of human disease ranging from atherosclerosis to neuropathic pain. We employ molecular, cellular and mouse models to study oxidized lipoproteins, cholesterol dynamics and role of lipid rafts in regulation of inflammation.
