Description
The stuttering and vvariability (savvy) lab in Communicative Sciences and Disorders (CSD) at New York University (NYU) (PI: Eric S. Jackson) is looking to hire a Research Scientist for a period of at least one year.
The savvy lab focuses on stuttering in adults and children, particularly the variability with which stuttering events occur and the factors that drive this variability (e.g., social-cognitive processing, cognitive control). The Research Scientist will work primarily on two projects, which follow up on our recent work on right hemisphere and cognitive control involvement in stuttered speech: 1) determining cortical substrates of stuttered speech (and anticipated stuttering) in children; and 2) testing the therapeutic effects of neuromodulation (tDCS) on the speech of stutterers. The Research Scientist will be involved in co-authoring manuscripts, and may have the opportunity to pursue independent research studies within the aims of the lab....
